The Kaghani Goat is part of the mountain goat and goat antelope breeds. They love being at high altitudes and have the long woolly coats to protect them at those heights.
They are usually all white with long silky fur and both the males and females have beards and long faces.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Kaghani produces an undercoat of fur which is a very expensive cashmere wool. That once produced is called Pashmina which is used in the production of the famous Pashmina scarves that can be found all over the world.
They are not known for leather production, but they do have fine pelts
They do have lean tender meat that is quite tasty
HISTORY
The Kaghani domesticated goat breed originated from the valley of the Hazara district. They were also found in abundance in the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan.
Their main home, however, is Kaghan valley for which they are named.
They are a very valuable commodity to farmers in Pakistan and prized for their nutritious meat and excellent quality cashmere that the goat produces once a year.
They are excellent for small to medium-sized farmers and are a great source of income for some families.
